Patient – age 48.
Photo on the left – evidence of rheumatoid arthritis (stage IV).
The first case of rheumatoid arthritis treated
by the Fowler operation under local anesthesia in Poland.
The operation involved both feet – it means 10 toes during one procedure.
After 3 hours post-treatment the patient was able to go home on crutches.
Artificial endoprostheses of joints (expensive and unreliable) were unnecessary.
Photo on the right – results of treatment after 3 months.
7 years of post-treatment observation has revealed no reoccurrence of the feet deformation.
